A Year of Promoting The People Who Make the Things I Love: Jan 21–Haim

In 2022, I am going to spend some time each day promoting someone who makes the things I love. I started this series because I believe that we, myself included, spend so much time on social media dunking on people (however deserved) and not enough time lifting up people deserving of positive attention.

Today it’s the three sisters Alana, Este, and Danielle who make up the band Haim.

I first became aware of the band from their 2017 album Something to Tell You. I honestly forget how I heard about them, but I remember loading up their album on Spotify and listening to it start to finish a bunch.

I’m a big fan of Paul Thomas Anderson, and I thought it was awesome that he was directing some of their music videos, like Right Now (below)

I’ve heard really good things about Licorice Pizza, which stars Alana.
