A Year of Promoting The People Who Make the Things I Love: Jan 19–Girlfriend Reviews
In 2022, I am going to spend some time each day promoting someone who makes the things I love. I started this series because I believe that we, myself included, spend so much time on social media dunking on people (however deserved) and not enough time lifting up people deserving of positive attention.
Today it’s Shelby and Matt from the Youtube channel Girlfriend Reviews.
I discovered their channel a few months ago, and it instantly became one of my favorites. The premise is very simple, although occasionally it’ll change for a video.
Matt is a long time gamer, and the videos started as “A review of what it’s like to live with someone who plays _______________.” They are mostly written and edited by Matt, but Shelby’s narration is equally responsible for the entertainment value of the videos.
They are hilarious and actually more informative than a lot of “real” reviews of video games.
Recently, they became engaged, although the channel will still be called Girlfriend Reviews. I hope you take some time to watch a video, and I think you will be just as hooked as I was.
